Potteric Carr is a reserve that is full of life, usually.
Just like the day before at Bradford Dale it was quite an effort to find any birds. Passerines in particular were few and far between. We recorded 43 species, which was good, but not in any great numbers. Waterfowl were plentiful and somewhat rescued the day. I know it's probably not wise to write about how low the numbers were, but I can only report what we see and the thoughts I have. Having said that the day was still enjoyable with good company and plenty of fresh air. Sometimes watching wildlife is like this, but it doesn't mean we still can't enjoy it.
See full list below of the species we saw.
