Another great midweek walk and this time with some great weather. We were down to two layers by the end as the sun shone and brought out the bird song.
Green Woodpeckers calling with brief views and Great Spotted Woodpeckers mating. A Kingfisher's piping call and a flash of blue while Skylark, Chiffchaff, Goldfinch & Song Thrush song filled the air. A female Kestrel kept an eye on us from a nearby tree and Buzzard circled above our heads. The day was made with great views of the local Barn Owl came out to hunt. Quartering just in front of us as we hid behind a viewing screen. What a fabulous day we had.
