A walk at Carsington Water

About the walk

Free transport from the Belper/Cromford areas or on route. The water levels at Carsington Water are very low at the moment which is bringing in more than the usual species of waders. Tour length is from 3 hour to 4 hours, depending on what we see. A mix of a large water body, woodland and meadows means you can find a good mix of bird species here, including good numbers of wildfowl. I have recorded 106 species here and it's a great place for beginners to learn to ID some of the more common birds. We will start with a walk at the main visitors centre before heading to the hides at Sheepwash.
