Despite the weather forecast, the day turned out to be very wet. It began promisingly with blue skies and a hawthorn hedge teeming with birds, including thrushes, tits, and finches. However, when the rain poured down, the birds took cover. We still managed to spot a few, with the highlight being a hunting Kestrel. Even with the poor weather, we thoroughly enjoyed the walk. The dramatic skies and biting wind added to the experience, and we laughed at the absurdity of it all. The fantastic views of the Fieldfare and Redwings made the outing worthwhile, and I'm glad we persevered and made the most of it.
