Willington Circular

About the walk

This up and down route takes in the Willington nature reserve which is a great place in winter for waterfowl & heron species. As we leave the reserve we will pass through pasture with shallow pools, farmland, a short section of the River Trent I've recorded 99 species at Willington and I'm sure this will increase with the new habitats that are now accessible. Remember a lift is available from the Belper area, or on route, if required. This can be a lengthy walk and sometimes only accessible with wellies as the footpaths are prone to flooding.
